Terms & Conditions

Counsellor Responsibilities

 

  • To be available at the agreed time

  • To start and end sessions on time

  • To offer a quiet, appropriate and undisturbed space

  • To maintain safe, professional boundaries

  • To regard all contact and information as confidential unless she has reasonable doubt concerning the safety of the client or others

  • To work within the IFSW Ethical Principles and Values and Akademikerförbundet SSR Code of Ethics (available upon request)

  • To review therapeutic work and relationship regularly

  • In the event the counsellor feels they are not able to offer the appropriate services, they will end the sessions and provide details of an alternative

  • In the unlikely event of me cancelling, an alternative appointment will be offered as soon as possible

  • The therapist will endeavour to give you as much advance notice as possible in terms of holidays or of any other need to cancel a future appointment.

 

Client Responsibilities

 

  • To attend punctually

  • To give a minimum of 48 hours notice when cancelling/changing an appointment (or the full fee becomes payable). If unwell at least 3 hours notice

  • Communicating with the therapist outside agreed counselling sessions to be limited to making, changing or cancelling an appointment unless by prior arrangement. Communications to be made over Email.

  • To be respectful to the counsellor and his property

  • To agree to give permission to contact the relevant authority if the counsellor has serious concerns  about risk to self (client) or others

  • To discuss with the counsellor when you feel you are ready to end your sessions, with one sessions notice

 

Payment

 

  • Payment is to be made within 7 days of the invoice date following each scheduled session.

  • Payment is made through bank transfer.

 

 

Cancellation and Missed Session Policy

 

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. The required notice for cancellation is 48 hours or 3 hours in the event of illness. Where there is less notice, or if you fail to attend your appointment, the full fee will be charged.

 

We hope clients appreciate that it is rarely possible to fill these appointments at such short notice which is why we are obliged to charge for the Therapist’s time.

Data Protection

 

All personal information that the counsellor may use will be collected, processed, and held in accordance with the provisions of EU Regulation 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Client’s rights under the GDPR.
